CPU Power Connector Wasn't Plugged In Correctly?

Hello, so basically posting this makes me feel like I'm a dumb***-... A while back ago I decided to re-do my cable management inside of my computer, and I had to unplug/plugin some cables as usual, and everything was working smooth still. It wasn't until today that I had decided to clean the dust out of my computer case, and found that the CPU Power Connector wasn't actually plugged in correctly, yet it was half way in, and halfway out, not even powering the open sockets that was revealed, so I obviously smacked myself upon the head and plugged it in correctly. Just out of curiosity what problems could have this made in the past and what problems could happen now in the present/future because of it?

Here's some images to show what it looked like:

No damage should have been done, if you happened to nudge it and it lost power that would have been why.
I had a similar issue switching cases, looked at my 760 and the 6 pin power was slightly farther out than the 8 pin. Bit of a hassle to shutdown, take the panel off, and push it slightly.

Yea, I guess I did it and wasn't paying too much attention to it when plugging it back in. :p
