Gta 4 sapphire hd r7-240 1gb ddr5

Hi guys, i'm running gta 4 with my sapphire hd r7-240 1gb ddr5 graphic card but it give me 30-60 fps and average fps is 35-40 what can i do to increase it performance ?

Games settings are :-
All on high
Water quality on very high
Resolution 1600x900
draw distance etc = 17/17
view distance = 1

My system spec :-
Intel pentium dual core e5400 2.7ghz
4gb ddr3 ram
sapphire hd r7-240 1gb ddr5
300W power supply

Upgrade hardware. GTA4 is extremely dependent on your CPU as well, my rig cant run the game on high over 30FPS at 1080p.
All around its simply a bad port.

Will cpu affect fps ? if yes then how much fps increasement, Also view distance and draw distance eat cpu or gpu cause if i make it full (100/100/100) then i get 20-22 fps

View distance takes a lot of resources, so turning it down can help. The CPU would help, as GTA4 pulls alot of performance from that. Either way it wont be more than ~10 fps more.

It depends on budgets, http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Processor-2-83GHz-1333MHz-BX80569Q9550/dp/B0012WDMNC/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt that would be a decent one, my recommendation would be build your own PC after saving up some money.

Hey,
I've got waaay over 100 games and GTA4 is the only game that runs like crap on my system.

There's something wrong with the code, and the frame rate will lock regardless of quality settings. For example, I had everything at max at 2560x1440 and it locked to 52FPS which then gave screen tearing because it doesn't match my monitor's 60Hz refresh.

At LOWER settings the frame rate should be higher right? Nope, locked to 44FPS.

Oddly, I managed 60FPS at the start of the game but it dropped and just stayed locked (and in some cases dropped lower).

*I've tried this game on the following setups:
a) GTX680, i7-3770K
b) HD5870, i7-860
c) HD3870, X2-4800+

I've never got the game running properly and I've tried since it was released; I'm very smart with gaming PC hardware too and spent hours reading other advice and trying fixes. I will however buy GTA5 because I know how great it will run on PC.
