I am going to work on a build with dual Xeon E5-2690 and I was wondering if Hyper 12 EVO would be enough to cool them I do not plan on doing over clocking.
A 3960 overclocked to 4.6 which will produce more heat than the xeons. 31 db at full load at 1 meter distance. At half that distance, 35 maybe? But the Xeons will be easier.
Xeons can't be overclocked. Anyway the 212 Evo will handle them ok-ish. It will be rather noisy, but they can handle it. Due to the tighter binning, those Xeons produce as much heat as a 3960/4960, which an Evo does handle, even though a bit loudly.
