I have Win7 Ultimate 64bit installed on my SSD and on Speccy, the temperature keeps rising at a constant rate, even going up to 50C at one point. Its a Samsung SSD 840 PRO Series ATA.

Is there a way to reduce the temperature?

I have the NZXT H440 case so my SSD is under the gpu. The thing is my gpu is the Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce. So The fans blow onto the SSD.

Should I try to move it to one of the HDD bays? If so, how would I manage to hold it down?

a lot of newer case have screw holes cut out for 2.5 inch drives. just screw it down in one of the hd tray. before i did that see if the video card is blowing onto the drive or if the power supply is blowing into the case. most new builder error is turning the power supply to blow into the case.

Do you have a LINK for that?

*Update: never mind, I see that in Speccy. It's probably overly cautious though. And SPECCY says it's 50degC not 60degC.

Also, I think modern SSD's all have thermal throttle circuitry to protect them anyway.

The Samsung SM951 for example starts throttling at 81degC.

Anyway, the 50degC is perfectly normal and fine. I think people may be concerned because they are used to what a HARD DRIVE is rated for but they aren't comparable. An SSD is just a few chips so it's not difficult to run these relatively hot.

*SPECCY IS NOT ACCURATE*

It says 50degC for my Samsung SSD's like the Samsung 840 Pro. Here's the actual specs:
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/Downloads/DataSheet-Samsung_SSD_840_PRO_Rev12.pdf

70degC (if being used)
95degC (if not being used)

It probably throttles at 70degC anyway, but with no active cooling the temperature is going to be at least as much as the internal air temperature, though if it hits 95degC something else in your system would fail.

*Point is he's well below the max temperature.
