Hi all, I've had this issue more or less immediately after building my PC in July 2011 but never could be bothered addressing it because it happened very infrequently.

Basically at random intervals, can be as often as a few times a day or even as little as once a week or longer my PC will BSOD seemingly at random. The computer could be idle or I could be in a game, it doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing. I originally found out that it could possibly be due to my SSD, the OCZ Agility 3 but that's just going on what I've Googled around the web, seeing as it is quite common. Recently, the last 3-4 weeks my PC will also 'hang' at random intervals, seemingly at an increasing rate.

I tried downloading the OCZ toolbox but it won't recognize my drive and I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. I've heard updating the SSD firmware may help but since it's a boot drive I can't automate the upgrade and I'm not sure exactly how to do it manually.

The BSOD is usually data in page error but this also varies at times too.

System:

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Mobo: Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Gpu: GeForce GTX 580
Ram: 8gb Corsair Vengeance
Processor: Intel i5 2500k
Boot drive: OCZ Agility 3
Secondary: Samsung HD103SJ
External: Seagate 1tb

Thanks in advance for any help someone can provide.

1) update your motherboard BIOS if you haven't already

2) test your DDR3 memory www.memtest.org (may need to change BIOS boot order so DVD drive is first)

3) update SSD firmware (in a different PC if needed)

I believe the SSD isn't recognized because it is the boot drive, but I'm not certain. I had OCZ drives myself and remember going through a few hoops to update the firmware but the instructions are at the site.

Thanks for the reply:

1) I've never updated my motherboard BIOS. I was about to, but read that it can go pretty horribly wrong. Going through the site web pages based on my model seems to yield a dozen or so various updates relating to my motherboard. Do I download all of them? Or only a specific one?

2)I assume I have to download this ISO file and burn it in order to conduct this test?

3) Yes a lot of hoops to jump through...seeing as it is my boot drive, the steps seem to be more difficult.
