Minecraft server on a laptop

I was wondering if i can run my minecraft server from my laptop but how much power would that use and how much ram do i need on my old one i have like 6gb of ram and i dont know how much power it would use up

Power isn't much but if your doing just a simple Minecraft server for a few friends you gotta think about a few things

1. Your Internet Speeds ( they recommend for every 3-4 people have 1mb upload speed )
2. How much ram your Java is getting ( [Start button], [Right Click MyComputer], [Select Properties], [Advanced System Settings], [Select Environmental Variables], [Select _JAVA_OPTIONS and hit Edit] [Type into Variable Value -Xmx(Ram size you want)M -Xms(Ram size you want)M],[Ok,Ok,Apply,Ok]
3. And also your having latest Java, and at most if your gonna be running Minecraft on this computer while the server is up
