I'm currently playing assassins creed black flag on my pc at 720p. At preset (default high settings) at which the game is playable but i'm not satisfied so i want it to be more smoother but the problem is that when i try to lower the graphics from in games settings .....they seems to have no effect on the game..its like if i lowered the shadow level to none and switched off the motion blur ........they're still there in the game.....does anyone knows how to fix this..:)i am pretty sure about my rig and it has potential to run this game on 720p at high settings...so rig isn't the concern here...please help me so i can play this game more smoothly on lower settings at 720p..:)if there's any patch or fix for this please attach a link ....thanx in advance.

Solution
It's always useful to know the spec of a person's PC, it can sometimes identify the problem straight-away. Your GPU is best suited for 720p and medium settings.

Effects such as shadows, ambient lighting and motion blur won't offer much of a boost in frame rate, but lowering the resolution, texture filter and disabling anti-aisling will. What frame rate do you get at high settings?

If the problem is that your adjusted settings aren't being saved, then that's another thing entirely.

Solution
It may be posible to edit one of the game's .ini files to force it to use certain display settings, but I wouldn't know which file you need. An uninstall and reinstall is also another option. If you bought the game on Steam, you can also verify the integrity of the game cache; https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335.

Besides that, take a look at the Ubisoft forums or log a ticket with their support team.
