I'm not able to boot from cd drive

Hi. I was helping a friend install windows 7 on his desktop computer. For some reason the bios won't allow changes to happen on the first boot device. I needed to boot on the cd drive so I could

on the second screen with dell type bios highlight hard drive hit enter then move the + down to cd rom and the pc should boot from cd. also if it a windows os disk check that the disk says os and not word. some window disk that say upgrade are not bootable. the newer disk are dvd disk check that the pc cd rom drive has a dvd logo on it . of it an older cd rom drive it wont read. if that is an issue ..from another pc use the microsoft free iso to usb tool and a 4g or larger usb stick to make a bootable usb stick image.

In your second screenshot (the BOOT MENU), use the arrow down key to highlight CDROM, then press <Enter>

That's what I did sir. For some reason it keeps on booting on the hard drive and not on the dvd-rom

You must have a bootable disc in the CD/DVD drive before you choose CDROM as the boot device.

I already have the cd rom inserted. The motherboard is gigabyte. I don't know the exact model though.
