neither are fully capable gaming gpus in 4k. to properly game in 4k you need 2-3 high end gpus. Listen, understand that the difference from a 780 to a high end titan black or 780ti is less then 15%. If you want to properly game in 4k, 2 780s in SLi would probably be the most cost effective solution, or depending on where you live 2 r9-290/290x (in some places those are much cheaper then nvidia options).

Here is the problem with your statement. The 780Ti does not equal the performance of a Titan Black in all situations, I.E. the issue that I am currently having. If he plans on running more than 1 monitor, especially at high resolutions, he will need a titan black, period. Not even multiple Ti's will help, unless they are indeed the 6gb version, which I just spoke with EVGA today, and they have no plans to release a 6gb 780Ti anytime at all in the near future because it will kill the titan black sales. That came straight from EVGA. The 6gb 780 is the only card you will see anytime soon, and the 3 gb ti's are out of the question, i dont care how many he runs in sli, if he has multiple monitors in mind, he is going to have vram issues!

then get the r9-295x2

cheaper then 2 titan blacks, and about as strong in 4k.
