1080P LED 3D TV for gaming

Itching to get for myself a new 50inch 3D led 1080p tv. It will used as a monitor connected to my pc as of now(1080p 42 plasma). My usage divided between gaming and video streaming. What kind of shortcoming will i be facing while gaming, in particular gaming in 3D?

i do not have any specific hd tv in mind. it is just that the price of large screen 3d tv have came down tremendously recently. My current plasma tv has seen a few years of heavy usage and i thought it is high time i do a upgrade. As a general rule, just not certain what i would lose out using a large screen led 3D tv as compared to a plasma tv or a purpose built computer monitor for gaming.
