Two questions about drivers

Hi, falks. I got a freshly installed Windows 8.1 x64 and now I'm installing the drivers. I have two questions.

1. Which AMD driver should I download? (see picture below)

2. Do I need these three drivers:

Intel SATA Preinstall driver
(For AHCI / RAID Mode)

&

Marvell Preinstall Driver
(Note) Windows setup to read from USB thumb drive.

&

Marvell Storage Utility (I already have Intel RST installed.)

the marvell driver is for the 3 party sata ports if there turned off or not used not needed. for the usb driver yes you want to look see if windows installed the newest driver. for the chipset drivers only use the release ones not the beta ones.

1) The beta drivers tend to be slightly faster and more optimized, while the normal ones are very stable and certified. I'd normally suggest the betas.

2a) Not if you've already got Windows installed. If it was saying that it couldn't detect a drive to install to, you'd want it.

b) Nope. Not installing Windows to the Marvell controllers.

c) Probably no. Only if you want to use the extra Marvell SATA ports (inferior to the Intel ones), and windows doesn't see it. It should, though.

Btw, my motherboard is Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H.

1. Are the USB 3.0 drivers integrated in Windows 8.1?

2. Do I need Marvell SATA Controller Driver?

1) Should be

2) Might be preinstalled, might not. Not sure. You'll only need them if you want to run more than 6x SATA drives, though.

So next time when I'm installing Windows, I don't need to install those preinstall drivers? Am I correct?

If you can install Windows without them, you don't need them. If you can't, you do.

Future Windows disks may have the drivers built into them - I think the Win8.1 ones do.

Most of them should be installed with Windows, either on the disc or when you run Windows Update (if you do the optional ones).

The only ones I'd manually install are the ethernet and pre-install SATA ones, if the disc didn't have them already.
