ASUS Z87 Pro + two GPUs - can I fit in a sound card?

Hi
I'm getting a new PC with an Asus Z87 Pro mobo and two GTX 780 GPUs.

I'm wondering about whether I'll be able to fit a sound card in (reason: to have an optical out and real 7.1, or to run a Buttkicker transducer).

The reason I ask is that the salesman said it wouldn't be possible 'cos the two GPUs didn't leave much space, yet I know there are enough slots for a sound card.

Is the salesman right? Is there a way around it?

There is a smaller PCI-E 1x slot right above the top x16 slot. I have a dual 770 SLI in my system and had to relocate my Sound Blaster Z to that slot, but it all worked fine on my Z87 pro. The top x1 slot should not be covered by the GPU (since its fan will be "below" the actual card), so you should be fine.
