Hello, I bought a pair of Team Group Vulcan Gold 8GB (2x4GB) 2133Mhz 1.65v to try and use them in my Core 2 Duo E7600 (OC @ 3.7Ghz) and MSI G41M-P25 motherboard setup, and they don't work. I just get the 3 beeps and PC doesn't boot. Shouldn't they be able to run but at lower frequency? 1333Mhz maybe?
I'll upgrade to a new motherboard in about 2-3 months but I needed extra RAM now so went for ones that would be suitable for the new motherboard. Any idea on what I can do to make it work? I updated the BIOS, tried clearing the CMOS, different FSB switch settings, no success.

Update:
Just tested the rams in a new PC, AsRock motherboard (Z87 chipset if I remember right), i7 4770k and tested them at 1066Mhz and 1.5V which my motherboard supports, and they worked just fine, so I'm guessing my motherboard is simply incompatible with the RAM even though the RAM itself can run at lower frequency and voltage.

Am I guessing right that I have no way of using them unless I upgrade my motherboard?

Thanks for the reply Markkk.

In the BIOS the Voltage setting for RAM can go above 1.65V and I even set it to 1.6V on the old RAM (risky) and it still worked (booted to POST but I didn't let it boot into Windows to not fry my ram).

I can't do anything about Latency as I can't boot at all with the new RAM to edit any settings.

Tried 1 RAM chip.

I think I might be forced to revert to the old ram but would've really liked to be able to use it soon :(

Likely just a compatibility issue that MB wont support that ram - Happens
You can check the Manufacture Web site as they usually have specifics of ram that work and some that don't

I would check the new MB your looking to make sure it supports the ram you have so you don't get the same issue
From what I have read this ram needs at least 1.5-1.65 Volts and its CAS Latency set in bios to be configured for best results.

There is a thread which has mixed views here some expert answers at the bottom http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/314258-30-team-vulcan-good

jaquith is a memory expert maybe you can pm him for further information and peace of mind ;)
