Hi,

I have an Asus N56VM laptop with a Nvidia Geforce GT630M 2GB and an Intel i7 3610QM running on Windows 8.1.

A while back I was struggling to get my HDMI port to work so I tried something with my videocard with reinstalling drivers. This however back fired and now I completely uninstalled my drivers and it isn't recognized by my laptop anymore. It is now using the onboard Intel Graphics Card as my main one. Whenever I try to install drivers it will give me errors. Currently at Device Manager it is shown as Microsoft Basic Display-adapter.

Things I already tried:
- Upgrading BIOS
- Downloading older drivers

I already roamed the internet in finding a solution and the only thing I can think of now is a complete reinstall of Windows and to format my hard drives. It's frustrating that no drivers get installed, it will give me the same errors all the time.

Example (it's in Dutch, but I guess you can see what it means):
1. http://s18.postimg.org/o6p9q6wyx/Knipsel2.png ('geen' = none)
2. http://s12.postimg.org/q1epcvpq5/Knipsel3.png ('mislukt = failed)

I also can't install the Nvidia Graphics Adapter WDDM 1.1, 1,2, 1.3 via Windows Update, it will give me an error aswell.

Hopefully someone here can give me a solution!

Thank you in advance,

Thomas

Try to download Intel vga driver, install it and then install nvidia's driver. I have had situation with drivers, and solution was to install intel's driver first and then install nvidia and it worked.
Good luck

At the moment i have Intel HD Graphics 4000, what drivers should I install? I'm not really sure what to do with Intel at this point.

Go to asus site, download intels vga and nvidia vga drivers. By the way, there is no support for win 8.1, only win 8. Install first intels drivers then try nvidia. Download the latest drivers.
Hope this will help you.

I already tried installing those Nvidia drivers from the ASUS website, but it gives me the same errors.. It wont let me install any drivers for my videocard.

For the Intel drivers it says this: Current Driver Installed: 10.18.10.3308 and that there is a new one: 15.33.18.64.3496. it wont install though. (I think it's the same driver but with a different name perhaps?)

I also upgraded from Windows 7 > 8 > 8.1, it's giving me so much problems..

Yeah i hav had the same broblem and the solution is the same. But instead of a fresh install u could just refresh ur win8.1 by going to the control panel(metro one). The problem is probably caused by a corrupt copy of windows.

This error is too when your Intel Driver is OUTDATED... No download old drivers from Asus, go to INTEL and download the lastest and install... When is the newest for the newest nVidia "must have" then is all ok...

When you have problem on anybody pc install Intels driver, then download the .zip installation NOT the .exe
Thats all, good gaming :)
