Solution

welll...maybe, here is the benchmarked card one against the other, the performance is quite similar, one do better in one game and the other does better in some other games, check it out and chose the one that performs better in the games you play... http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1043?vs=1038
Also check at features offered by nvidia vs amd, amd has mantle and true audio, nvidia has physicx and shadowplay...
One thing for sure is that sapphire is a brand to be recommanded, excellent customer service and great quality products.

Zotac are establishing their name and would still be my choice if cheaper than the name brands (Asus, MSI and EVGA) I have heard good things about their customer support as well. They have not been around very long but their parent company PC Partner has.
I see no reason to drop down a performance level to the 270X if the budget allows the GTX760.

well...if you check benchmarks on both card you will realise that they are very similar in performance, the gtx does better in some games and the r9 270x does better in some othr titles..there is really no ''Drop down a performance level'' here...
