Hi all,

i am wondering how to fix my FPS, Im am playing Elder scrolls online and my fps stays between 50-70 depending on what i do.

but at times when things get busy on the screen (20+ people) the framerate drops 45- but i have seen drops to 9.5..... i just dont understand what is causing my fps to drop dramatically while my computer specs are said to be good enough to run this game on ultra settings.

can you please help me out on this?

40-45FPS with 20+ people on screen is actually not bad at all. As zerg count increases your FPS will drop, significantly.

See if there is a player count/culling setting in your game settings or detail settings. This usually helps and is often an option in modern MMOs.

Using Guild wars 2 as...
Its a brand new MMO. if this game is the only place you are having the problem. Chances are that the game is not mature enough and still needs some updating.

However as said above, provide your specs and we can help you to the best of our ability.

You can always turn down settings for now so when you have a lot of people on your screen it runs fine. I am sure they will be patching, but it can definitely be your system as well.

Using Guild wars 2 as a reference, I've seen FPS into the 20 FPS range with 40-50 people on screen for a big PvE boss event. In WvW (World vs world - PvP on a large scale) you can have near 100 players from 2 or 3 teams on screen at a time. 8FPS. No joking.

i had the same problem in gw2, the fps dropped in such a way that i couldnt play at all, eso does not seem to have that option it seems ive been looking in the settings and it doesnt say much.

i've switched from HDMI cable to analog if i am saying it correctly, to see if there is a problem ive read something about a limitation of 60hz.

any other suggestions? cause im testing it with ultra settings and it runs smooth as hell but when the zerg is in view the fps drop significantly

You can make some changes to your graphical settings. I am downloading ESO as I type this, but I never have any massive pvp during beta. I'll do some experimentation over the weekend to see how to gain some fps. If available, turn down particle settings and things that really are just eye candy such as fog/water, etc. Also, not sure if you can do it in ESO, but plane clipping as well.

i've been doing that the last couple of days already, im running it on ultra now and i dont see any difference.

sure it takes a few more fps even in the stable area, but it doesnt seem to matter, as soon as the big zergs come along I have syrup on the screen. its that particular moment and also just when the comp is loading something the fps drops dramatically. im not sure what to think of it, is the cpu not handling it or the working memory...
