i tried to overclock my 7870xt .i used amd catalyst control center and saphire trixx without changing voltage and set gpu clock at 1050 and memory clock at 1600.but it seems like there is no performance change at all.i get the same fps as i did before i changed the clocks.why it wont work and can i do something about it?my drivers are up to date. thanks.
my system:
gpu:saphire radeon hd 7870xt
cpu:intel i5 4440 3.1 ghz
psu:coolermaster 650 w
ram:8 gb 1333mhz ddr3
mobo:gigabyte h81m-s2pv

You shouldn't expect to see a massive jump in fps. Changes are gradual. Also, how were you testing this? Most people use benchmarks that are identical every time.

i didnt use benchmarks but im playing bf3 and at least i dont expect fps drops.it drops to 45 on ultra settings sometimes.shouldn't overclocking prevent that?it doesnt change a thing at all

Without benchmarks, you're never going to know. There's a reason that they exist. It provides a stable testing ground that shows you exactly how much improvement you can get.
