PC was working fine then turned off my CPU fan had stopped turning. opened up case let it cool off. turned back on but nothing

was wondering if my power supply went out or mother board don't know were to start. checked all the connections they seem to be correct. I didn't build it but don't want to send it back if I don't have to. any help would be appreciated.

Main suspect when everything is dead is the PSU, so try a replacement. Make sure the new one is the same or higher output wattage than the existing one (higher output wattage will not damage anything).

Motherboard could have gone south. (That means it died.) Have you tried another motherboard? The CMOS/BIOS could also be monitoring temps and one of the temp values is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over. (That also means that the computer is still too hot to power on.) Reset BIOS and try to power on again.
