Don't risk using XP at all in my opinion.
Isn't that PC also to old to run Ubuntu?

I would try XUBUNTU or Linux Mint Debian on that machine. To make a live USB use LiLi

Wireless is just as bad if not worse than wired. If you want to network them, have them on a non-internet connected switch.

With hardware that old its time for replacement , if they can afford to .

removing all network drivers is all you need to do. There is some sort of update service Malwarebytes is going to provide (google it because IDK much about it)

So that's just the case of going to device manager and desalting network devices. What you mean update service? Is it for XP? I've got avast av running and I'm going to install Spybot search and destroy from a memory stick as it has no internet connection I just need a witless card now if any one could recommend one?

Yes, I don't know much about security but that might be the thing everyone is looking for.

well i know malwarebytes is a very good av anyway, so might as well get it if its going to provide good security but along with anti spyware. will this do for the wireless card?

It doesn't look bad. And it's got 4 stars so may as well get that one.
