Issues with new PC

So I have just upgraded my new computer by replacing my motherboard,CPU,GPU and PSU.I have this setup for the last 4 months and in terms of performance I have been extremely happy with it.But I had a few issues that I would like to ask and if there are actual problems that I should be paying attention to or if they are just a few misfires.

Now this is the first build that I've put together and because my old setup was extremely solid in terms of stability and reliability I'd like to know if any of the stuff that I'm about to mention are normal...

The first thing that happened was about 2 months ago while I was browsing on youtube and eventually when I clicked on a thumbnail the screen just went blue with a lot of flickering yellow lines and I couldn't do anything it just kept on going until I rebooted the PC.I asked one of my friends and he said to me that it could be just an occurrence so I decided to let it go.About 2 hours ago though again while browsing but this time I just changed a tab and the screen went again completely blue with no errors but no flickering yellow lines it was just plain blue.So I rebooted the PC again but it wouldn't reboot at all (but the screen recovered) so then I shut it down completely and waited for about 15 minutes to try and boot it and luckily enough it did!

So my question is if it's simply some sort of driver issue or compatibility or a hardware issue because I really don't know what can cause this and I'm kind of standing in nowhere with my limited experience and amateur knowledge.I don't think that it could be the temps of my cpu or gpu because I'm monitoring them both when the PC is on and they are pretty normal. My 270X is around 30 degrees AVG and around 60 depending on the load (I don't overclock the card) and my FX8320 is cooled by a H80i set at quiet mode and is at about 20 degrees and around 40 maximum under load (again I don't overclock...yet).

Thanks for your attention!

Specs:
AsRock 970 Extreme 3 R2.0
AMD FX8320+Corsair H80i
MSI R9 270X Gaming Edition 2G
Trancsend 4GB Ram 1333mhz
Corsair VS550
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OEM
AMD Catalyst 14.1 (just updating to 14.3 after this)
I don't know the bios version I'd have to look into it...

So today I pulled the GPU off the mobo and cleaned it with q-tips...It looks awesome with that matte black PCB but anyway the temps have dropped to about 28-29 degrees Celsius and the pc seems to be running pretty similarly compared to previously so I just have to wait and see but I am actually going to try stress testing the CPU and the GPU just to get an idea if there is anything going on with them...

Again thanks for your time!

Ahh! I had the exact same issue with my twin frozr 7870. It was random but when i clicked on youtube videos it would do the same thing and it freaked me out. What i did to solve it was uninstall every driver for your GPU, then i uninstalled my web plugins flash, and all of that. Re installed my gpu drivers and flash. Did the trick for me. MAKE sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card as well.

Good luck

Thanks man but the weird thing is that the first time that it happened I had just done a format about a month ago but I'm definitely gonna give it go because I have completely freaked out aswell!

I have a 550w PSU which is more than enough for my setup (I need atleast 400w)

if you could... maybe test the each piece one by one on your friends PC to see if you can duplicate the issue. I'd start with the video card (of course), then move up from there. Also check your GPU and CPU etc temperatures. The method is new to me.. but maybe you could try stress testing the different components as well, one by one?

It's a fresh install of Windows, though?

Well the problem is that I could easily take my components to a friend's house and see if I can duplicate the issue there but it's so random that you really don't know when it's gonna happen. As I said in the description the gap was about 2 months until yesterday so it's gonna take most likely a lot of time which I don't really afford only on weekends I can pull it off.I've thought of some other stuff that can be causing this for one it could be the DVI adaptor because my screen runs only with VGA so the connection could be causing this and two it could be my Hard drive failing that is just a shot in the dark but it is possible. And yes it is a fresh windows install. For the moment I'm trying a few minor things like reinstalling drivers and stuff and see how it goes and then if it happens again I'm gonna stress test my gpu and cpu.
