Core clock changes a lot why?

hello i just recently downloaded cpu z, i have an fx 8320 clocked at 3.5 ghz, when im in the cpu z program it says my core speed stay at the 1.3 why is it doing this i havent overclocked or nothing i have my cpu at stock speeds?

As Don said, it will slow down to save power and decrease heat when in idle, when gaming the CPU is under stress and requires the higher clock speed to get the best performance out of the game. My FX 6300 will go down to 1.4Ghz in idle and then back up to 3.5Ghz while gaming, its nothing to worry about

It's a power saving feature. Your CPU doesn't need to be running full tilt all the time. I wouldn't worry about it :)

sso for example when i am playing a game it will boost up to the 3.5 ghz
