I have a Cybertron Syclone II GM2242L gaming PC, with an 800 watt power supply.. (Full specs here: http://www.amazon.com/CybertronPC-Syclone-II-Gaming-Red/dp/B0080NQGA2 ) I've been talking about upgrading the graphics cards in it, and today my dad brought me a graphics card he picked up for me- he doesn't know much about them, basically went in to Best Buy and asked the guy for the best they had, bless his heart.
So, he got me an NVIDIA GE Force GTX 770 (This one: http://amzn.com/B00CZ7Q028 ), which requires a 600 watt power supply, so it seems my computer would work with it- but I know you have to take into account the power required by the rest of the components, too.
I've never replaced a graphics card in a computer; I mess around a lot with software, but I honestly haven't done much hands on work with hardware. I'm hesitant about popping the case open and doing this myself, especially on a higher end machine on my first try. Will this graphics card work for my machine? I'm assuming I will need to replace one of the two graphics cards already in there, and not just add this one to the extra slot. I know about the safety precautions to take when working on the hardware in the tower. Beyond that, I would just be going by whatever guides I Google up and the instructions that come with the graphics card, and I would feel a lot better hearing some first hand advice from people who've done this before on their gaming setups.
I know, it's a rather noob question, but I really appreciate any advice or helpful links y'all might have.
