Buy a desktop? Chances are your laptop is incredibly slow, and it has a slow hard drive, which means 23 minutes to load your game.

A SSD would help load times, but if the rest of your laptop is slow, then it would kind of be a waste to get a SSD

what computer part helps load games faster
like i said im making a gaming pc for $900

What are the specs of your laptop?

It could be the hard drive is fragmented so defragging it may help. It could also be due to the saved game file size, or it may be the game itself.

For example, I built a PC for a friend which was pretty fast back in 2009 and is still pretty decent now. But back in 2011 he complained that he wanted a new PC because the Sims 3 took too long to load; about 30 minutes. Did some research and found that many people had problems with very long load times, typically 20 minutes long and that was due to all the different expansion packs that kept causing the save game size to continuously grow.

He decided to start a new Sims 3 family and all was fine again....

Here would be my pick with SSD, which will help load times.

Nice combo, so is that $900 minus CPU and Motherboard then? If so, I can go even higher on the GPU. :D This is a bit over the $900 mark, but so worth it.

You don't really install games on a SSD, since they tend to take up a lot of space. Unless you use a ssd for storage, which would be quite expensive.
Also, a new pc with a new say WD blue will load games incomparably faster than your current setup.

If your SSD is big enough, it doesn't hurt to put a game or 2 on them. A 240gb would allow me to put my most used games on it. I am thinking on getting a 480gb Crucial for my laptop.
