So this command prompt can be used to test out the ping on almost any server i could connect to? Also does port forwarding the games servers help?
Port forwarding isn't really about performance, it's about a connection. If you are connecting, don't worry about port forwarding.
Ive also had my Ethernet Cable for a good 3-4 years now would it also be worth getting a new one to replace it?
I'm not sure you are still understanding. It's very likely the issue is NOT with your equipment.
For instance, if you drop to a command prompt and type ipconfig, then find your gateway IP, and then do ping -t <gateway IP> and then play your game. When your lag in the game gets bad, does the ping to your router (gateway) go up drastically too? If not, then the issue likely isn't you.
It's much more likelly that a few people in your area fired up netflix and your ISP is selling stuff it can't supply so it causes traffic delays.
