Hi,

Recently built a wannabe budget gaming pc, 4 months old, I come home one day and my 3.0''s aren't working!9i put it on sleep every night before bed)no idea why! tried re installing drivers, didn't work, restarted computer, nope. Then I went into BIOS but I didn't know what to disable/enable, HELP PLEASE I NEED THOSE PORTS! (in my opinion 2.0 is much slower)

System Specs:

Intel i3 3220 3.4 ghz
Z77 g45 MSI military class III mb
4 gb ram 1333 mhz
PSU 430 watt thermaltake
GTX 650 ti
1tb hard drive
disc drive

(plenty of power for the usb's so please don't tell me that I don't, i've seen it in other threads)

This has been my problem as well. The USB 2.0 are fine but 4 out my 6 USB 3.0 ports, after almost two years of no PC issues, failed virtually at the same time. This is what Gigabyte support had me do and I am sure it will help you in your diagnosis.

1. Reboot your system into BIOS and while in BIOS try your keyboard in the slots that failed and see if your keyboard works in any of them.
2. Reboot into Safe Mode and repeat the process as in #1.

* Then get a hold of MSI's tech support and report your issues plus the diagnostic findings. When Gigabyte saw the results they issued me an RMA.

* In addition I burned Linux Mint to a DVD and rebooted my system with said DVD in my DVD drive. Linux loaded before Windows could. Don't worry...

How do you find the USB 3 controller? Thanks!

It is in the BIOS. Your MB manual should tell you where it is. Can download the manual at the MB web site, if you don't have one already.
