Hi guys,

I know that dual boot questions are asked here too often, but I was unable to find an answer that was specific to the situation that I am in. I currently boot using Windows 8.1, but I also want the option of booting from linux.

I have 3 hard drives:
- 1 ssd that holds windows 8, but only has 10 gb left
- 1 internal 2 tb hard drive with 1 tb left
- 1 external 2tb hard drive with nothing on it

I want to know which hard drive I should instal linux to, and if any extra software is needed to do this dual boot.

I also would like to know how to change the OS that I will be booting from once I have installed linux.

Thanks, Sean

When I first got into the dual booting stuff I looked at this guide http://apcmag.com/how-to-dual-boot-windows-8-and-linux.... not 100% sure if it will help you completely but I think it should have some good information about your question. I think I used Gparted when I did mine.
