what motherboard do you have? does it support crossfire and sli or just crossfire? if it only supports crossfire it means that the pci-e x 16 slots are running on 4x lanes which is a massive bottleneck for both cards. if you disable the second card the first lane should use 16x lanes again and it wil give you full preformance. what psu are you using?
