I have a wireless Huawei HG532 router and just got a Wireless-N wifi Repeater.
I have plugged it into a 13amp socket and it is recognized on my laptop however when I go CONNECT it then asks me for an 8 digit PIN form the back of the router and there is not one! Please can someone tell me how to find that PIN?

Solution
The eight digit number is the wps key.

Connect your laptop to the main router via an Ethernet cable, then to your laptop.
Use the IP address stated on the router and the default user name and password.

In the wireless section of the router is located the wps push pin setup along with
the eight digit code.

I hope you have put all of the settings needed in the repeater, as it will also have a log in menu that must be setup to allow it to bridge, or repeat from the main wi-fi signal of the Huawei router.

You must do these steps if you have not to both the router and the repeater. Follow the guide bellow. If you have not setup the repeater or router.

Hi Shaun
That is really helpful thank you. Now I have been into router settings Basic>WLAN and at the bottom I have found a WPS Mode box set at PBC. If I choose PIN from the drop down bos=x it then presents me with a further empty box fro PIN. Should I change the first setting to PIN and then think of an 8 digit number? If I do that will I mess anything else up?

I advise as strongly as possible you find another way to configure the repeater. Most you can key in the mac addresses if you have to and key in your WPA passwords and SSID.

WPS needs to be completely disabled on your router and repeater for your network to be secure. It only take a couple hours for someone to get this pin number and once they get it they can get on your network at will no matter how often you change your WPA password. It is impossible to change the WPA pin so you need to just disable the feature completely....and if your router does not have a option to disable it buy a new router.

I seem to have got myself into a complete mess!
When I plugged in the repeater it was not recognized after the above changes although the power light came on.
I re-enabled WPS and all router settings are now saved and back as they were.
Now when I plug in the repeater I do not get it recognized among the list when I click on the network icon at the bottom RHS of my screen.
The power light comes on but now no wifi light, the lan indicator comes on if I plug it into the router or the laptop but that is not helping.
I have repeatedly typed in the 192.168.10.1 address to try and access something but that fails to do anything except bring up a search box
