I'm currently upgrading components in my pc.
I have just ordered a GTX 750 ti, now im going to replace my processor which is a AMD FX 4100 quad core. I want to replace my current one with a AMD FX 8350 8 core processor, will it fit in the slot where my 4100 currently is?
Will this processor be the best choice for PC gaming? or are there better ones to choose from?

Need to the make and model number of your motherboard - OR - you can look it up for yourself. Go to your motherboard manufacturer's web site and look up the specs for your board. Somewhere on that page will be a CPU Support List. It will tell you exactly what processors are compatible with your motherboard and which BIOS version is required for each processor it supports.

First, look for the processor that you currently have installed and see what BIOS version is required for that processor.
Next, look for the processor you want to get. If you find it on the list, it's supported.
Finally, check to see what version BIOS is required for that processor.
If it matches your current processor's BIOS version, you can upgrade without any other changes. If the two BIOS versions are different, then you'll likely need to upgrade the BIOS version prior to installing your new processor.
