Hi, my birthday is coming up on wednesday and I can't decide whether to get a PS4 Or a Gaming PC. I have a few people online that I play PC with but my PC isn't very good and it can get extremely irritating playing games on 20fps on low-medium settings. Whereas if I get a PS4 I will have 2-3 real life friends to play with. I'm stuck as I want to play games on high settings with 40-60fps on a PC but I won't be able to play with my IRL friends as they have PS4. I will be playing DayZ, Arma 3, Battlefield 4 and Elder Scrolls Online on the PC mostly. But on the PS4 I'll only be playing Fifa 14 and Battlefield 4. I found a £700 Gaming PC for £530 and I hear the specs (FX 6300 CPU and Radeon R9 270X GPU) can run the games I want to play smoothly on high at 40-60fps. Can these specs run those games and if they can, which should I get, PS4 to play more with IRL friends and have an easier time playing considering it's easier to setup, or a PC to play with online friends and have better graphics with more games?

PC>ANY CONSOLE
only the price i think is the problem
4-5 years after upgrading any pc will be slow
but you can keep upgrading your pc

the only problem pc faces are the exclusive titles which some consoles have
yes current games will surely run good(40+fps) on your rig

in the end its your choice
i would suggest a pc if your budget restrictions are low
and ps4 if you have a low budget

In my opinion, PC all the way!
But, the decision in totally yours. If you like the feel of physically holding a controller, you could buy a wired Xbox 360 controller and hook it up to your PC to play games such as BF4 and FIFA.
PCs can be upgraded easier than consoles can, so you can upgrade and upgrade parts whenever you feel like it, therefore PCs can *usually* play games at higher FPS.

The specs you listed will play any game easily. Good choice.

However, if you would prefer to play with your real life friends, then grab a PS4.

Which ever one you choose, enjoy it! And, Happy Birthday for Wednesday!

you could do what I did
I started out with a simple machine (HP entertainment pavilion that I dragged out of a skip) and slowly upgraded it into the rig it is today (that way you are not dropping £1k all at once for a good machine)
I went motherboard processor and ram (borrowing a graphics card from a friend that was about £250-£300)
then I got a better PSU (cougar CMX1000 for £150 - you do not need a 1000 watt PSU a 750 watt (about £80 or so) should do) followed by a 7970 (£300) and a case (£100)
and when you have finished upgrading you can put the original computer together and sell it to someone who wants a box for simple tasks (I got about £100 back from doing up a machine from the left over parts + some extra bits)
