I am going to get a new computer and I don't want to pay for an OS again.

When windows 8 first came out the upgrade, the 'Pro Plus' pack, I used it as an clean install (I downloaded it, and used a USB for install).
(I still have the activation code, and the USB).

If I was to uninstall Windows 8 'Pro Plus', from my old PC, would I be able to activate it again on the new one.
I ask as I am not sure if it is OEM, and I know that OEM is linked to a motherboard.

Solution
Yes you can.
The licensing for Windows 8/8.1 allows you to install it on a whole new PC, new motherboard, whatever...

Windows 8/8.1 OEM is not linked to the 'first motherboard'.

OK....what did you actually buy? A Windows 8 upgrade? Upgrading from Win 7?

Windows 8 OEM is not necessarily tied to that first hardware. If you buy it and you install it, you can reinstall on whatever hardware you want. As always, only one PC at a time.

But if it is a true upgrade from Windows 7, you need to have Win 7 installed, then maybe upgrade to 8.

I bought a download copy from Microsoft of windows 8 Pro Plus, I did a clean install. And I am wondering if I can uninstall it and reinstall it on a different computer.
