The error message and the graph in the task manager are pretty much my problem. My RAM usage seems to be capped at 4GB even though the system clearly recognizes 8GB. Can anyone please give me any pointers?

My system is a fresh 2013 Lenovo X1 Carbon (just got it for work, fresh install etc.)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4600U @ 2.10GHz
not quite sure about the motherboard but it should be an Intel fabricate.

I encountered the problem first when I was playing LoL and the error message threw me out of the game, which makes this issue quite annoying. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hm nah, the machine is clean (as expected). At least now I have a malware scanner, which is good, thanks for that. Any other ideas? There is a bunch of Lenovo branded software preinstalled, including Norton, could that have anything to do with it?

Also, I just realized that I don't know what you mean by DRAM.

DRAM is RAM, same same. It doesn't look like it's capped at 4, looks simply like using 4GB, can remove a lot of the crap from start up either through MSCONFIG, or somewhat easier, get the free version of WinPatrol, it will allow to to disable startup items and later reenable if needed

@Tradesman, well I get this error message, which you can see on the screenshot, that tells me I'm out of RAM. Which for me means the RAM is capped *shrug*

@i7baby 64bit, sorry forgot to include that.

Anyone? :/
