So, for the last few years my family has been moving between costa rica and san diego (CA) since we've had a house in costa rica, and never stayed that long in CA so we could rent. But last time we went we stayed for a year, me and my bro play online video games, and my dad uses internet for just about everything. We have to have internet but thats not the issue. we had 25mb/sec internet and we could all stream and play video games and it work just fine. but since we plan to buy a house in CA and will be moving there permanently we are looking for cheaper but nicer areas to live. normally we would stay in OB San Diego, but we want something farther out in the country, so we can have a huge house for the same price of a small house at the beach. We we're looking at places in FallBrook, And i noticed the best internet there is 6mb/sec. Money is not an issue, if there is some sort of business tier internet (i hear its called something like teir 1 internet?) idk if 6mb/sec is enough for us to all stream and be able to play games fine.

Sorry for the long read, just wanted everyone to understand my situation.

Thanks!

Depends on the game. Netflix for example, the HD requirement ranges from 4-8mbps depending on bit-rate and several other variables. This is very similar to how Youtube works also. Now for the games, it really won't be the best of experiences, but it'll work. I'd suggest upgrading to 8 or even 12/16.

If you demand for HD quality like 720p, you are good to go but it's only good for one streaming PC.
Gaming doesn't consume much bandwidth, a 512 kb/s internet connection is enough, but if your downloading updates it could take a while.

I run a 5mb/s down Internet connection and I can play online games just fine. 720p video streaming is also doable, but only if nobody else is using the connection for anything intensive. 1080p streaming is out of the question though. Large downloads will also take a while, so you may need to be patient if you play a lot of online games that have very large content patches.
