I copied movies on to my external HD but when I hook it up to my TV by USB cable provided by the external, the movies are not recognized. I copied AVI and MKV both in and out of file folders but still nothing. Movies not in folders are seen as images with no name of the movies and still no play. Movies in file folders, I can see the name of the movies, I click the folder then get error message "no items to display". My external is a Toshiba canvio basics 3.0 and my tv is Sony Bravia kdl-42ex441. My external lites up and I can hear it loading.
