Where is the iphone hdd located in the phone

I Dropped my Iphone 5 in a creek. I Did the whole shabang rice, silicon, swabbing. Well i dint wake back up. So im replacing alot of parts in it so i can keep all my photo, notes and data. But if i cant get it back im getting a new phone and will transfer the hdd. My real question is Where is the hard drive in an iphone 5 located. Iphones are mini computers. Where is my data stored.

From my understanding is IPhones like most smart phones use flash memory not hard drives to store your data. Whether integrated on the phone main board or as an SD card. Maybe someone can correct me on this. I don't own an IPhone.

My Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has maybe 330 MB internal storage, but it has 16 GB of storage on a SD card.

Were you able to successfully retrieve your data by transferring the Hynix flash to another iPhone5?

I am in similar situation and am told that this is not possible due to some restrictions placed by Apple itself.
