CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor (£77.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£53.95 @ CCL Computers)
Memory: Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£58.68 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£43.14 @ CCL Computers)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB Video Card (£128.71 @ CCL Computers)
Case: Zalman Z11 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: XFX 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply )

So I think ive narrowed down my no boot problem down to an insufficent PSU (fingers crossed),

I will be returning the one I purchased and would like some advice on a better GPU taking into account I need 2 of these PCI-E cables to run my graphics card I think and lots of molex connectors for my case fans etc.

The one I have has 3 molex connections, and a 1 PCI-E cable which is no where near enough.

(I was told I should be using these PCI cables for my GPU instead of molex connections when it states in my GPU instruction manual to use molex connectors - confused)

Anything Seasonic, Corsair (HX/AX Series), Rosewill...

I would go for a 600w system to have plenty of breathing room. Im also a personal fan of Gold PSU's...but thats a value decision for you to make.

ABSOLUTELY use the PCI GPU Cables provided over molex. I have no idea why a GPU manufacturer would recommend otherwise.

XFX is a good brand, but for your graphics card you need 500 watts with 24 Amps on the 12V rail.

Yea usually 500W is where the go from one to 2 6-pins. The XFX is a great brand and I am surprised it didn't work even with the molex.

Use PCI-E not the molex if you can.

I would suggest getting the XFX 550W. It has 1 6-pin and 1 6+2 pin which can be used as a 6 or 8 pin PCI-E.

I was foolish and bought the PSU to quick, the GPU has a 500w min req that I overlooked and the system doesnt boot. It has 3 molex adaptors and 1 PCI cable thingy which isnt enough I need 2 of the PCI-E cables guaranteed.
