Hi everyone,
I'm currently planning my first custom build, I have done a good amount of research but im still unsure of what is compatible and best value for money.
For the PC itself (I'm in the UK) I'm hoping to stay below £1500. The monitor, keyboard, mouse and OS will be separate in this budgeting.

I will use it most likely for gaming, but will likely do rendering and other intensive tasks at points due to studying game development at college.

Here is the current list:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3myDN

CPU:
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core (£231.98)
CPU cooler:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing (£25.45)
Motherboard:
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 (£89.99)
RAM:
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 (£118.99)
Storage:
Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" SSD (£80.57)
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM (£39.00)
GPU:
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB (£539.15)
Case:
NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower (£98.40)
PSU:
EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V (£80.10)
Optical drive:
Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer (£11.72)
Wireless card:
Asus PCE-AC68 802.11a/b/g/n/ac PCI-Express x1 (£69.47)
Sound card:
CREATIVE Sound Blaster Z Bearing Sound Card (£65.22)

Total: £1450.04 (as of posting)

Feedback on these would be greatly appreciated on whether to upgrade or downgrade these components.
Any tips for the actual build process would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The rig looks fine to me, only a few changes.

- Go for the 840 EVO instead of the Pro, unless you intend to use it as a scratch disk you wont lose any performance.
- Dont get anything special in terms of a wireless NIC unless your home network is something special, ie a dual band router or something like that. If you just have a standard wireless router, don't get anything expensive here.
- A sound card that expensive is going to waste unless you have the audio system to back it. If your running $100 headphones, spend more like $20-30 on a Xonar DGX just for the integrated headphone amp. If your running speakers, its going to depend on your setup.
- Would personally go for an ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI card over EVGA because they have the...

Okay thanks for the advice, after a little more research I have seen that the 780ti takes up 2 slots due to its size; when adding the sound card and wireless card (if i definitely got them) would I have ran out of PCI-E slots, as the board has 3, in which case i would only be able to put the 780ti and one other PCI-E card in?
