Hi, I have an hp laptop I would like to install chrome on, the problem is that whenever I install a new os I need to get the drivers for the network card, microphone, camera, etc. The files from HP are in MSI format so how can I download them once I have chrome so installed? Also I've read that to configure and install chrome os you need an active internet connect but how can I connect without a driver? Thanks

More about : installing chromium

You can't. You need to download the driver from another computer and put it on a USB drive. Then install the network driver and you can do the rest of your work from Crhome when you install it.

Note that MSI files will be for Windows only. You will need specific drivers for the chrome os.

I've read that you need an active connection to set up chrome, but thanks anyway, I'll run it in dual boot then once in chromium I'll partition the hd to just chrome once I have a connection.

My mistake... you can kind of ignore what I said. I usually think of Chromium as the browser project, not the OS. sorry.
