I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit atm with a GB-X58A-UD5 motherboard...

I went to the gigabyte website under my motherboard in use and it had a link to this...
http://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/19/download-center.html
Should I use that... or 'Microsoft update 912945' (whatever that is).

Or a third party driver update scanner like Driver Detective (I've used this before my key was expired and I don't like how messy it is and the lack of instructions, in most cases it is un-existent, I don't even know what the drivers are FOR sometimes).

According to: http://driver-update-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
Driver Reviver is the best software for this in 2014, but it's library only contains 10million, compared to Driver Detectives 1.8 BILLION.

[Q2 - Bonus Question] I've recently done a fresh install of windows with raid0. Should I do all the Windows 7 updates first and then the drivers? Or update my drivers now, then Windows 7, then get 'supportive software' like java, flash player etc...

So what are your thoughts guys?
I'm giving away the PC so I want it to be as clean and ready to go as possible to avoid complaints down the road.

generally you want to refer to the manufacturer for drivers. but Slimdrivers is a great free program for doing exactly as you described. automated driver programs will always have their issues though, they arent perfect

Iobit driver booster is pretty good, but as Beezy said you can't beat downloading the drivers from the manufacturers site

And what should I install first? Drivers or Windows updates? I think updates, then drivers, correct?

Edit: I wouldn't mind using a PAYED driver detection software because they detect things that the manufacturer website has stopped updating, such as realtec audio drivers or USB ones etc. But it would have to be amazing, or I'm not buying.

Drivers first, windows updates usually make a minor difference.

agreed, drivers are more closely related to the core hardware and the windows updates are more software oriented.
