Help with a $800 gaming pc build

I'd like to get into pc gaming but I'm really not sure what parts to choose. I need a legitimate copy of windows and I'll install it from a usb so no need for an optical drive. But if you can give me a really good reason to choose linux I might not need windows as long as I can do some work like microsoft word and powerpoint which i might pirate but I will probably pay for it

wow thank you I'm going to upgrade the storage and os but what do you think about steam os because I'm going to use this mainly for gaming but can i do some work on word or something similar?

I have no experience with steam OS but not sure why you want it. If you use Windows 7 you can do much more.
