Hi I have just built a New PC. I have a Gigabyte R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI. The HDMI connection is displaying an oversized screen image. The task bar is below the lower edge of the screen as is the rest of the outer edges of the window. Icant find a driver on the samsung site my tv (Samsung LE46C750R2KXXU) is no longer listed. My old PC connected through the VGA connection on the TV and was great. My issue is This is to be a gaming rig and I would like to get the best display I can. I'm told the best connection is HDMI to HDMI. I'm also told using an DVI adapter will lose quality and the VGA connection is inferior. Its a bit of a mess trying to find answers on line. Any experts with advice out there please?
Many thanks
AJ

It's a setting in the TV. Look for terms like 'overscan' , 'pixel perfect', '1:1', or similar. Usually under the HDMI settings for that input.

Also, using DVI is identical to HDMI, except that you lose audio and a few other features.

Your a hero. Thanks.

It took me long enough to find it (wife says that to me a lot) :) But got there in the end. (I say that to the wife a lot less) :)
I found something on my TV settings called 'game mode' sounds exiting, I'll probably spend the rest of the day looking to see what that is.
Cant thank you enough, I can now move on until something else baffles me. That's not so daunting thanks to this site and the amazingly quick responses.
Thanks again
All the best

Thank You!! With my HP 311 Mini and my Samsung 6030 series TV, this worked.

Here are the details:

Menu button (all buttons are on the Samsung TV remote), Picture (enter button), scroll down to Screen Adjustment (enter button), Picture Size (enter button), scroll down, Screen Fit (enter button), and close the menus.

Thank you very much - I had the same problem - a Samsung 46L HDTV that cropped the edges of my browser window while connected to the HDMI port of my HP Spectre x360. I changed the parameters on the Samsung under "picture options" to "Just Scan" and it fixed the problem! It took less than 5 minutes after reading your thread. Great advice :)
