Becasue im planning to buy a 1440p monitor i think about upgrading my old gtx 560ti to a Asus R9 280X. At the moment I've got a 560 W PSU in my PC.
Is that enough for the Overclocked Asus? Especially if i want to Overclock my i7?
Specs:
560W PSU
i7 2600k (3.5 ghz stock at the moment)
2 7200rpm harddrives
asus p8p67-m mainboard
16gb ram

no it will not be good to run a good high end desktop with a low end psu. there will be a danger of sort circuits, overvoltage etc.

its much better to get a good branded psu like from corsair, seasonic etc.

try out this psu-

You will need to swap that out too for a decent PSU if you're doing that upgrade

looks like its going to be higher investion...
Is a Platinum PSu significantly quiter than a gold one ?
Ive got a noctua nhd14 cpu cooler and at the moment im only hearing my PSU fan. So in the next PSU i wanted to go for a semi passive or very quite fan.

You could go for a 0db PSU i will look one up for you. Platinum will mostly quieter yes, but you pay a lot of price premium for it. You could also go for a seasonic fanless 460watt i think it will be enough but only just.
