Bought 8GB 1600 Mhz memory but its showing only 800 Mhz ! Please help me to make it 1600 Mhz

Solution
DDR (and DDR2, DDR3) have twice the number of transfers as MHz. Technically the RAM is 800MHz, 1600MT/s. This is because it sends two sets of data with every clock cycle.

RAM does not downclock like CPUs do, currently.

It has automatically lowered it to 800Mhz as it is similar to idling. When you begin to do heavy gaming or video editing, the speed of it will increase by itself. This is simply to save power and put less stress on your RAM. Hope this helped.

it doesn't do that. so no it didn't help.
