ok, i have tried everything, at first the laptop would shut off during gameplay, so i sent it in for RMA and since it came back, it has been shutting off randomly when not in gameplay.

i reinstalled windows 7, have checked for viruses, have tracked the temperature of the CPU (around 40C when not in gameplay and around 70C during gameplay), i am playing games that are only legit downloads (not pirated).

ASUS apparently wants me to send it in again to re-RMA for further and deeper searching for the problem, but it isnt possible, unless deeply necessary. i am seriously considering buying a new laptop.

I use this laptop for gaming as well as work so i can not send it in for RMA again, as i live overseas being stationed here in the navy and it takes about a month for the total shipping time to complete. is there anything that i am doing wrong?

the laptop is only 2 years old, and i have only installed the kind of programs that will search for viruses, ETC.

i would just get a desktop, but i do go to sea, and a desktop isnt possible, and a laptop is the necessary one, so laptop is the only thing i can go with now.
thank you.

Does it just randomly shut off? Are there any signs of it, like an LED indicator going red, and what happens when it does shut off? Does the fan speed increase, then shuts off? It is possible that corrupt hardware is the problem. Heavy use of a gaming laptop for 2 years, it is likely that some hardware failed/corrupted. What is your laptop configuration? (CPU, GPU. I googled your laptop, and there was no Asus G70JX there)

wow, i got that way wrong, that was my old one, it is an Asus G75VW.

as for your questions, no, nothing different happens, fan stays normal, no LED, no BSOD, just shuts off, and when i boot it up, it goes to the "windows did not shut down correctly" screen.
