Hi, I have a friend looking to build an intel + nvidia PC for £600 ~$1000 with a monitor, keyboard, headset, windows and a decent case, possibly a decent corsair or nzxt one, Thanks!

Yeh that is pretty much the best option. You might try to extend to an R9 270 or even R9 270X which can be had for £145 (so only £20 more) for much greater gaming performance.
