Does this bottleneck? By how much?
MB: Asrock 970 Extreme4
CPU: FX-8350
GPU: GTX770
PSU: Corsair CX600M

There are no big problems and I didn't think this is that bad of a bottleneck, but Thief is all messed up and in just about every game there are downward-FPS-spikes that mostly aren't that bad but still...

More about : badly bottleneck

No bottleneck , but the PSU is poor quality , but is enough to power your specs.

Thanks. I thought so, but my problems with Thief made me doubt myself :|

What motherboard are you using? I have seen similar issues with that cpu and motherboards with a 760g chipset.

970 Extreme4 < Doesn't support the 8320 or 8350 , that might be your issue.

They pulled it off the support list awhile back.

Damn... How have I missed that...
Well why have I not had problems in any other games? Apart from the occasional FPS-spikes.
I suppose that it's just not ideal, but still works?

They pulled the support because of the instability of the board with those CPU's.

Poor thermal design

Can the MB damage the CPU? In other words, would it be safe to keep using it until I run in to problems and then get a new MB?

It will probably become more unstable as time goes by . I would upgrade as soon as possible.

It'll probably end up frying the vrms. Which could damage the cpu. I replace it.

Any recommendations for a new MB? Something good enough, but not too expensive?
Also, should I do a clean install of windows or can I swap the MB on the fly?
Could I uninstall all the drivers for my current MB and then swap to the new one and install all of its drivers and except it to work?
