I got an Alienware X51 with Windows 7 64 bit this past Christmas.
One day, it mysteriously froze at the "starting windows" screen.
It's supposed to show the Alienware symbol and then the "starting windows" screen.
Instead, it skipped the Alienware symbol and showed the words "starting windows", but the animated windows symbol did not show, and the computer froze.
It froze even when I attempted a startup repair.
Alienware Technical Support told me to run an ePSA test, and it didn't find any hardware problems, and then I told the computer it to reboot, and it booted just fine.
After a few days, the problem happened again, and I fixed it with the ePSA test, which again did not find any problems.
The technical support guy told me to upgrade my NVIDIA graphics card software, and I did, but that did not solve the problem.
This problem has been happening more and more frequently.
Now, I can hardly boot to Windows without having to run an ePSA test first.
