Randomly during gameplay/cutscenes the game freezes for like 3-5 secs then the gameplay/cutscene continues normally.

I get average of 47 fps in this game (not overclocked).

My PSU is Corsair 430M and GPU is EVGA 750 ti. I just built this PC a week ago running on windows 7 64 bit so I doubt its junk files/registry errors causing it cause everything is fresh. Also the game is running off SSD.

I did install Precision X and ticked set frame rate target to 60fps.

I have the latest NVidia drivers and the game is the latest version according to steam client.

I understand NVidia users experience crashing/freezing with this game last year however its 2014 and I believe the latest NVidia drivers and latest patch I got for this game fixed the problems of last year.

Why does this happen?

Check your background processes. I had a similar problem with McAfee awhile back where it was constantly writing to a log file. Once I uninstalled, it was fine.

I just realised that when I play the game I can see my GPU core overclocks to 1150 in Precision X and the voltage goes to 1200mv and the temp goes to high 50c. My stock boost clock is 1085.

Why does this happen in Precision X when I didn't manually overclock my GPU using this software? I should see no more than 1085 yet I see 1150 which is a 65 MHz increase over boost clock.

strange just played the game 2 hours straight without a single freeze. When I upset the default settings on Precision X like enabling frame rate target or manually overclocking it then I notice the freezes.

Whats the highest stable clocks I can reach by overclocking my GPU without adding extra voltage on stock cooling?
