Hello!

I recently bought a new computer with a 990XA-UD3 Motherboard and two sticks of Crucial Ballistix SPORT XT 8GB 1866Mhz with 10-10-10-30 and 1.5V each one (http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-PC3-14900-240-Pin-BLS8G3D18ADS/dp/B00DCMU8BE).

I'm posting this because I have problems with windows 8.1 installation (error 0xC0000005) and It seems that it can be the ram, so I used Memtest86+ with each one of the ram sticks individually and I saw that the timings and frequency are wrong.

Memtest86 says that each stick of my ram is 4-5-5-15 and 1066Mhz, but it have 0 errors.

I don't know if my ram isn't working properly.

Thanks for your time!

Your specs show Revision 3 motherboard but you are using BIOS for Revision 1.x motherboard.

Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB Single Memory Module BLS8G3D18ADS is not designed to be doubled up. Mixing memory modules. regardless of brand or model, may result in compatibility problems. The motherboard supports Extreme Memory Profiles (X.M.P.), if you enable XMP in the BIOS. XMP profile on BLS8G3D18ADS is for a single module not two.

While it is definitely possible that two kits would run together in the same system, there is a chance that you may need to reduce the speed of the memory due to motherboard chipset limitations when populating more than one memory module per channel on the board. If you have problems mixing modules, it is...

I'm trying to update my BIOS to F13 (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3901#bios), I place the 990XAUD3.F13 into a pen (FAT32), then I select Q-Flash > Update BIOS From Device and I don't know why but -Warning, Invalid BIOS Image- appears, so I can't update it.

CPU: AMD FX-8320
MOTHERBOARD: 990XA-UD3 Motherboard Rev:3.0

:: Edit
Okay, I have the last version of BIOS, the problem is still there.

Any idea?, Thanks again!

You may have to manually enter the voltage, frequency, and timings in the system setup. The default memory settings are fail-safe and in many cases will be below the marketed rate written on the package.

If you have problems mixing modules, it is suggested to manually lower the frequency of the memory.

I would try to RMA them and get a kit of two modules.
