When I change my belkin n1 routers ssid I can no longer see it in any of my wireless devices. This is the only thing I've changed. When I reset back to factory it's the first thing in my list of connections. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

SSID broadcast is not turned off. The only difference is the name change, and the new name is not found as a connection on any device.

SSID is the network ID, if you change it, You have to tell every wireless device to connect to the new network(and give it your security code again). After that it done it should be all be good.

If you have SSID broadcast turned OFF, you will have to tell each device the SSID instead of just searching for it.

SSID broadcast is not turned off. The only changes made is the name. All settings are the same but after the name change it won't show up in any device so I can't enter the security code to connect. I can't even find the connection...

I did reset to factory, that's why I'm not understanding what's going on. I reset to factory and it works fine. I change the name and it disappears. It's weird. I have never experienced this before.

I'm having the same problem can u help me? Have you found an answer? I changed the ssid and boom can't find it changed password boom! Can't find it anymore... Reset to default... Ok that does work but now it's unsecure and has the stupid default ssid name... I need help if u can.. :/

Please ensure SSD broadcast is on in your router. If it is not, you have to manually enter the SSID name when re-adding it to the system.

Some routers may call it Invisible. You want Visible.

You may also have to tell your system to connect even when the network is not broadcasting(because your computer has to call out to the router instead of the router calling out to the computer).
